4 Tips for Managing Your Technology Marketing Content

Put together a team that can assist you in your content marketing efforts.

Content marketing is an effective way to show you are a thought-leader and expert by providing others with valuable information in the technology industry. A proven form of content marketing is through a blog. It can be useful in generating followers and possible clients for your business.

The concern lies in how to maintain a blog. The posts must be consistent and current and you must keep the conversation going with your followers. For any business, this can be a cumbersome task, but a valuable one. That is why you should create a team of people who can assist in creating the content to market.

This team can help with the research, the writing, and the conversing, leaving you more at ease that the blog is doing its job.

Here are a few tips that will help you find and prepare that ideal team for your technology content marketing.

  1. Know your audience: Before you start looking for your team, make sure you have a clear understanding of your audience. Who are you talking to? What are their habits? What networks do they engage in? Determining your audience will help you determine the type of writers to reach out to.
  2. Know thyself: Make sure your objectives are clear. What is the reason for your content marketing? Thought-leadership, brand awareness, sales? Make sure this is clear to you and your team. If you don’t have an understanding of what you are doing and why, it will show in the writing and your readers won’t understand either as a result.
  3. Know where to look: There are a slew of copywriting websites and organizations in place for this very situation. Start doing simple web searches with keywords that match your objectives and audience. Plus, working with an organization gives you access to a whole database of writers, so you are more likely to find people who fit your needs. Or reach out to experts in your industry (even your clients); they will most likely be connected to others in the industry who will know.
  4. Know your proposition: Make sure your writers understand exactly what they are doing. Are they researching the information and writing? Are you providing the information and they are converting it to posts? What are their parameters? What is the focus? If they are not in 100% understanding they may write posts that do not coincide with your objectives.

Including content marketing in your marketing strategy is a beneficial idea that should pay off in the end, but don’t think you have to do it by yourself. Build a team who is willing and motivated to helping and adding to the initiative.
